Michael Trimble resides in Encinitas, California
where he pursues his many passions, which include photography,
playing music and surfing. Michael also runs a successful production
company BHS Productions focusing on commercial film projects.
Michael's photographic fascination started at a very early age
and has influenced the way he views the world around him. Michael
received his B.A. in Film Production from the University of Colorado
at Boulder.
Over the past years, Michael has established himself as a freelance
photographer working for such organizations as Street Scene in
San Diego and many others. His main pursuit however, has been
personal and focused on the imagery of doors and entryways. A
door, as simple or complex as it may be, offers an elaborate story
behind it, and a different interpretation for each viewer.
This is fascinating since each door carries its own very particular
mystic. This exhibition is from a recent trip to Greece in the
early summer of 1999. The photos cover three islands, Mykonos,
Rhodes and Santorini. "The islands are very hospitable and
the locals loved me climbing on their roofs and doorsteps,"
comments Michael.
Michael's collection of doors include a show of Parisian doors
and the doors of Puerto Vallerta, Mexico.
These exhibitions are currently being shown on Michael's web
site, which is: www.SanDiegoArtists.com/Trimble. Look for Michael's
work at Anthony's Star of the Sea Room, January-March 2001, the
Onyx Room in the Historic Gaslamp Quarter from April-June 2001,
and The Imperial Bank building lobby from July-October, 2001.
